Visualize how Chaining handles collisions using linked lists at each bucket index. Step-by-step logic for data insertion and retrieval.
Chaining handles collisions by allowing multiple entries to exist at the same index using a Linked List. If two keys map to the same bucket, they are simply "chained" together.
We access the bucket and iterate through the linked list to find a matching key.
If the key exists, we update/return it. If not, we insert a new node at the end of the chain.
Chaining is robust and never "fills up", but performance degrades if chains become too long (Load Factor > 1).
